Rain or Shine - Weather Update

Hello hello!

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July weekend! We had some decent weather and some not-so-decent weather. Some very large hail was reported last Friday that did cause some damage. We've been in a stretch of active weather and that continues today with scattered storms around. The severe weather will be confined to areas of NE Colorado for this evening.

As we continue to the rest of the week, the weather will calm down quite a bit. A ridge will build and that is going to cut off most of the moisture from the SW. This means that we are going to have a relatively cloud-free day! Highs will be warmer as a result. Upper 80s to near 90 for Tuesday.

Wednesday - Friday will be relatively dry as well but the mid-levels of the atmosphere will see a little bit of moisture creep in. This will bring a chance of showers that will mostly be confined to the mountains and higher terrain but some of those *may* make it into Denver.

Highs on Wednesday will be slightly cooler than Tuesday thanks to a near miss of a cold front. Thursday and Friday will be back near 90ยบ.

This weekend, we have an okay shot at seeing showers down on the Plains (and the mountains still). PWAT (precipitable water) values will be closing in on an inch meaning any storms that form will drop a lot of heavy rain. There is also the chance at a few severe storms but we'll have to wait and see if this ridge builds stronger than expected or if it's weak enough for some moisture to creep in.

Enjoy the nice work week we have coming up!
