Rain or Shine, I'm Andy Stein - Weather Update

Hey hey! Happy Tuesday!

Ah, the sunshine feels nice, doesn't it? Although we had some clouds and showers form, it's been a pretty nice day out. We briefly jumped into the lower-80s this afternoon - temps are warming and that won't change much through the week.

Here we go. Wednesday will be a very nice day out - I think we'll have cloud cover almost similar to today but there will be a good chance at having fewer clouds and more sun helping our temperatures to possibly hit 90ยบ for the first time this year! Aside from an off chance of a shower or storm tomorrow, we will be dry. Even if a storm forms, there isn't much moisture to work with and the storms will be high based. That means that you'll see more virga tomorrow than actual rain.

Thursday and Friday look great! No chance of widespread rain. Typical afternoon clouds and temps will be in the low to mid-90s! Have the sunnies ready and the water. A few storms could fire up in the higher terrain and once those push east across the Plains, they main encounter some energy and as a result, we could see some very large hail form in the storms that do erupt. This will almost certainly be confined to areas of the far Eastern Plains. A ridge of high pressure is building over the Western US and that is what is bringing the heat. That doesn't look to break down anytime soon.

With that said, this weekend, we have the chance of showers and storms to form. A little bit of moisture is going to sneak into the picture and bring us the chance for stronger storms this weekend. There is model disagreement with this but there's enough to go off of to say - watch out and stay tuned.

Next week also looks iffy. We could have some moisture around but some models are thinking it's going to be dry. Time will tell.

Enjoy the summer-like weather finally!
