Friday June 21 - Weather Update

Meteorologically, what a fun day across the state. We woke to snow falling around 6500 feet! We woke to rain in some areas and now I am watching the possibility of severe storms. It's rained almost everywhere already but it's just starting.

This is the beginning of a wet next 60 hours or so. On and off rain showers will be with us through Sunday morning. Severe storms will erupt again on Saturday but the main threat will be a little further south and east in the state.

Overall rain totals are still looking to be in the .50"-2" range. Snow totals will be 4-10". Higher amounts possible at the higher elevations.

The next few days are going to be chilly. Lower 60s are in the forecast for highs and overnight lows will dip into the 40s. Protect any sensitive plants that don't like sub 60ยบ weather.

Next week still looks dry and hot! Enjoy it, it's been a long time coming. The heat will be intense though. 90s and 100s are still in the forecast for Eastern Colorado around the 26-27.

Sorry for the short update. Not much to change though. I'll be back Monday after my first Colorado white water rafting trip and a camping trip.
